A routine traffic stop led to a pair of drug charges for a Cutchogue woman early Sunday morning after police found her in possession of a controlled substance, Southold Town Police said in a press release.
Donna Messina, 44, was stopped for speeding along Main Road in Mattituck shortly after 1 a.m. when police determined she was driving while impaired by a controlled substance, which she was also in possession of, police said. Police did not disclose the type of drug.
Ms. Messina was charged with DWI drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was held overnight at police headquarters for a Sunday morning arraignment.
